Makins in Concert

Award-winning lyricist and songwriter Daniel Makins will perform a concert of original music at 6:30p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29, in Hamilton Hall’s Hargrove Auditorium at The School of Theology. His songs explore discernment, intention, and faith with wit and honesty. Admission is free and open to the public.
Makins is a three-time finalist at the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Competition, a winner of the Wildflower and Gig Harbor Folk Festivals, and the Daily Texan calls him, “One of the top five new artists most likely to be seen on Austin City Limits.”
Makins is a relative of famed music archivist, John A. Lomax, and was raised in a musical family. Trained as a classical pianist and jazz drummer, he is now a notable finger-style guitarist and a professional, touring singer-songwriter. He has recorded eight albums and been included on a compilation released by the Center for Texas Music History. For more information go to < danielmakins.com>.
