UT/TSU Extension in Grundy County would like to invite everyone to attend the annual Fruit and Vegetable Luncheon Seminars in the Extension Office. A luncheon seminar will take place each week in March at the UT/TSU Extension Office in Coalmont on March 7, 13, 21, and 27, at 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. The cost, which includes lunch and a free vegetable calendar, is $7 for each seminar or all four seminars for $20. Participants are asked to RSVP the Monday before the program that you wish to attend so food preparations can be made.
Topics for the luncheon seminars will include: Let’s Grow Together (New Vegetable Varieties and Free Seed)!, March 7; Home Fruit Plantings, March 13; Planting Times and Site Selection for Vegetable Crops, March 21; and Soil Fertility in the Garden, March 27. Each program will begin at noon and conclude by 1 p.m. but lunch will be available at 11:30 a.m. for those who wish to eat early. RSVP is required for each program by calling the Extension Office in Coalmont at (931) 592-3971 the Monday before. These educational programs will be taught by professionals from the University of Tennessee in that field and all participants will receive literature and information for the day at no additional charge. This will be an excellent way to pick up some new information about vegetable production and start the year off with success.
UT/TSU Extension offers its programs to all eligible persons regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, religion or veteran status, and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
